LADSON, S.C– American LaFrance, LLC recently hired Jim Rogers as vice president of vocational sales and marketing. In his new position, Rogers will lead the sales and marketing teams in the vocational market, including the Condor product line. He reports to John Stevenson, President and CEO of American LaFrance.
“Jim brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in custom vocational vehicles,” said Stevenson. “His experience in refuse as well as other vocational products will enable us to strengthen the Condor brand quickly.”
In his career prior to American LaFrance, Rogers held several management positions with a Class 8 vehicle manufacturer including Southeast Regional Manager, National Dealer Development Manager and Director of Vocational and Medium Duty truck sales. In his new position, Gobessi is responsible for all aspects of American LaFrance product design and development, including engineering management of the company’s line of chassis, aerials, ambulances, pumpers, rescues, and tankers. He reports to John Stevenson, President and CEO of American LaFrance.

LADSON, S.C. - American LaFrance, LLC recently hired Steve Moore as the new manager of quality assurance. In his new position, Moore will manage the implementation of new and improved systems and procedures of quality assurance within the Ladson, SC corporate headquarters, and he will manage the inspection and testing of all materials purchased and manufactured. He reports to John Stevenson, President and CEO of American LaFrance.
“Steve is an excellent addition to the American LaFrance team,” said Stevenson. “His background in world class quality techniques will enhance our continuous quality improvement programs.”
Before joining American LaFrance Moore held several management positions with major vehicle manufacturers including Toyoda Automotive and Freightliner, LLC as quality manager at the Freightliner Cleveland Truck Plant. Ladson, S.C. - American LaFrance, LLC announced today that it will discontinue operations at its Casper, WY plant by late 2006. The majority of the existing backlog for these vehicles will be completed at this plant during a transition period. Some of the existing orders as well as future orders will be manufactured at other company plants.
During a town hall held today with the plant employees the company’s transition plans were discussed. At the conclusion of that meeting, the employees as a group re-affirmed their strong historical commitment to their customers to complete the existing orders in an efficient and quality manner.
According to Scott Barnes, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, this transition of production to other facilities is part of an effort to build greater efficiencies and will be seamless to American LaFrance operations and transparent to its customers. Approximately 67 positions in Casper will be affected by the production transfer.

As part of a larger reorganization designed to streamline DaimlerChrysler operations and reduce costs by 1.5 billion EUR per year, its Commercial Vehicles Division will now focus on commercial trucks as its core business and will operate under the name “Truck Group.”
Truck Group will be organized into:
· Trucks Europe/Latin America (Mercedes-Benz);
· Trucks NAFTA (Freightliner, Sterling and Thomas Built Buses);
· Mitsubishi Fuso Bus and Truck Corp.;
· Truck Product Creation.
“The new structure will create further synergies between the regional truck units and brands, and allow the Truck Group to accelerate its profit potential initiative called Global Excellence,” stated DaimlerChrysler in a news release.

Company Increases Commitment, Retains Condor Management Team Following Acquisition in December
Ladson, S.C. – American LaFrance, LLC, announced at the World of Concrete 2006 in Las Vegas that it intends to continue manufacturing Condor cabs and chassis under the American LaFrance name. The Condor vehicle line was part of Freightliner, LLC’s recent sale of American LaFrance to Patriarch Partners, LLC, an investment firm that specializes in buying and strengthening American businesses with deep heritages.
As part of the acquisition, American LaFrance has dedicated additional resources to Condor vehicles, with plans to expand the Condor dealer network and to further establish an industry leading distribution, service and parts network. Future plans also include expansion into new markets.

DaimlerChrysler to re-assemble Dodge Sprinter in Charleston Stuttgart/Portland - North America's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, DaimlerChrysler's Freightliner LLC, announced today that it has reached an agreement to transfer ownership of its fire apparatus and emergency vehicles business unit, American LaFrance, to the New York-based investment firm, Patriarch Partners, LLC.
Andreas Renschler, the DaimlerChrysler Board of Management member responsible for the Commercial Vehicles Division, said: "Under the 'Global Excellence' initiative we are reviewing the portfolio of our commercial vehicle businesses and products. I am pleased to announce that, as part of the go-forward understanding with DaimlerChrysler, the headquarters and production facility in Ladson, S.C. - will remain available to American LaFrance through mid-2007.
With this agreement, we will not be moving the pumper and tanker body production currently at that facility to other American LaFrance locations as previously announced. That manufacturing – and the several hundred jobs required to manage and operate it – will remain in Ladson and Jedburg, S.C. We have informed employees and cancelled layoff plans previously announced in early September.

Campbell Group Associates has announced today that they have opened new Corporate Headquarters located at 145 Talmadge Road in Edison, NJ 08818. The new office building will house all new and used Freightliner and American LaFrance Truck Sales and Administration personnel. The building is 5,000 square feet with a secure parking area for new and used trucks. The new Headquarters has state of the art office modules with digital internet access and Nortel communications.
The Campbell Supply Co., Inc., American LaFrance facility located at 110 Sylvania Pl. South Plainfield, NJ 07080 received new administration and service offices with upgraded phone and communications systems. This building has been expanded to hold up to 14 trucks in the secure heated indoor facility. American LaFrance recently signed multi-year contracts with the cities of Los Angeles, Phoenix and San Francisco. These contracts will result in the delivery of more than 100 vehicles in the next five years.
The company, which is based in South Carolina, signed a renewable contract with the city of Los Angeles to provide LTI tractor-drawn aerial fire trucks for the next five years, beginning with an immediate order of 14 vehicles. This purchase updates the entire front-line aerial fleet at the department.
Phoenix is currently in the middle of a five-year contract with American LaFrance for Eagle mid-engine pumpers specifically designed to meet the city's requirements. Approximately 50 pumpers have already been delivered and placed in service. In addition, the company is providing Phoenix and other cities in Arizona with hazmat rescue vehicles as well as mid-mount aerial towers.
