Wheeled Coach Launches Patient and Crew Safety System

Industry Exclusive SafePASSTM Now Standard on All Modular Ambulances
Orlando, Florida – Wheeled Coach Industries, Inc. – the largest Ambulance brand in the World – has launched SafePASS (Patient Access Safety System), an interior and exterior safety system designed specifically with crew and patient’s safety in mind.
SafePASS provides improved ergonomics and protection thanks to:
• Free-floating, extra-wide and deep door handles for firm grips even with heavy gloves.
• A stronger, more durable mechanism design helps eliminate wear & tear normally caused by trying to open a locked door.
• Emergency “direct release” door tabs that allow doors to be opened in the event an accident has bent the door lock control rod.
“We take pride at Wheeled Coach of always being Out in Front of the industry, especially when it relates to the well being of crews who put their trust in us,” stated Scott Barnes, VP of Marketing and Sales, “SafePASS continues this mission by providing a safer locking system on all our ambulances.”
Wheeled Coach is a wholly owned subsidiary of Collins Industries, Inc. In addition to being a leading manufacturer of ambulances (including medical attack vehicles, rescue vehicles and fire emergency vehicles), Collins Industries is North America’s largest producer of Type “A” small school buses, the nation’s second largest manufacturer of terminal trucks and a leader in the road construction and industrial sweeper markets. Since 1971, the Company has grown to approximately 1,000 employees in six plants comprising over one million combined square feet of manufacturing space. The Company sells its products throughout the United States and abroad.
